Fly baby, fly…

On my way home now. About 12h ago I boarded a plane in Singapore and now I am in Munich. 6am in the morning right now. Next plane to Zurich is in about 50min and then a relaxing day in Zurich at the lake awaits me. No internet access, no pressure to get work done.

Well, Stabux may actually have internet, but will see how that goes. In the afternoon I will board the plane to my final destination Berlin. 1,5h drive home and I arrived.

Will do pretty much the same things reverse next Saturday when I will be flying back to Singers. Just to board a plane to India the day after. Gonna help out the support team for some financial closing.

For the last 9 months, I havent seen a plane from the inside and now so much flying within a few days…

Oh, while in Germany I may actually also get on a plane, but this time to fly it myself. Please let me know if you’re around as I still need some passengers to make the flight worthwhile.

Numb

After so many weeks with 70, 80 or more hours, this week got really quiet. We have finished almost all of our defects, functional specs and other activities. Now it is up to the cutover team to make the production system work. There is little to no urgent work left to be done for this week.

It is strange, how the body and mind adapts to the high level of stress and pressure, which I experienced in the last few months. Now that the stress is gone, it feels numb. Almost like if you have been exposed to loud music and then the party is over. There is still a sound in your ears and it stops you from settling down.

I feel, now that the stress level is lower that I am not ‘centered’ anymore. There is something missing. Somehow the purpose got lost and you have to redefine what you’re aiming at. All the time during the last 12 months, we worked towards the GoLive. Now that we have reached that, we need to answer the question what comes after.

Unfortunately, in about one week the chaos will start again – once we are live. So, there is no point in adjusting to the new situation – it won’t last for too long. But after a few weeks the support phase will be over too and this time there won’t be too much after that. A logical break so to speak.

I have to ask myself what I want to do with the rest of the year until I turn 31. This is some sort of quarter-life crisis I suppose. Will have to work on my next career move, leave accenture and start something new.

Going home

After more then 9 months in Singapore, I managed to get one week off work to go back home to Europe. Looking forward to catch up with everyone and enjoy a few days of recreation.

For now the aim is September 21st for a week. So let me know if you will be around and when is a good time to catch up.

Oh, I will need to get some hours clocked in the plane. So looking for someone who would like to join me flying around.

Long time ago

The last time I updated my Internet presence is a loooong time ago. IT was on an outdated piece of software, got all spammed and I was tired of cleaning it all up. So, again another new beginning – this time with WordPress… However, not sure if I am going to repost the previous content in here. Let’s see if I find time for that (probably not ;)).

Again, I will start yet another attempt to make my presence here slightly more permanent. Hopefully with iPhone access more frequent updates will be easier to accomplish. Don’t you just love it?!

For everyone who wasn’t kept up to date on the past year, I am currently roaming Singapore. Actually since a little more then a year now on a SAP BI project.

Ok, this will conclude my first post. Hopefully many more will follow…
